Become A State Affiliate

What Are State Affiliates?

The American Electrology Association's goals are to develop, encourage and promote the highest standards in the field of electrology and to conduct and promote educational programs for a united, well-informed membership. We are sure that you, as an electrology association, desire those things as well.

Affiliated state associations select two Delegates to serve on the American Electrology Association (AEA) Board of Directors. They participate in discussions and are eligible to voice their opinions and vote on all motions and proposals. The Delegates go back to their states, disseminating information to their members and constituents regarding Board activities.

The AEA supports and assists in the development of affiliate programs, whether it is with educational seminars, promotion, or licensure. The AEA has the prime responsibility of representing its Affiliates and members to the public with information that is of national impact. The AEA is here to help you, the Association.

How To Become An Affiliate

  • Contact an AEA Board member or email presaea@electrology.com

  • Affiliates are autonomous in the development of articles of incorporation and bylaws. However, they must be in compliance with the regulations for 501(c) (6) not-for-profit status and must be consistent with the AEA Bylaws. A copy of the Affiliate Articles of Incorporation, Constitution and/or Bylaws, including any amendments, must be sent to the AEA Bylaws committee. If your association is not incorporated, the AEA will assist you in this endeavor. The AEA Affiliate Leadership Packet gives you step-by-step instructions.

  • An Affiliate may not create exclusionary bylaws to deny membership and an individual may not join an Affiliate or AEA without joining both. The AEA handles the billing for renewal dues and reimburses the state Affiliate. Its as easy as that!
